GhostTune communicates with the ECU through a WiFi-to-RS232 bridge. There is no cloud relay and no cable attached to the iPhone or iPad.
Connect the bridge
Attach a compatible bridge to the ECU diagnostic serial port and provide the bridge with power.
Join its WiFi network
Connect the iPhone or iPad to the bridge’s local access point in device settings.
Verify compatibility
GhostTune identifies the ECU profile and keeps unsupported write paths blocked.
Read, edit, and verify
Back up the tune, make supported changes, and use the guarded temporary-write or permanent-burn workflow.

The current release is verified with MicroSquirt hardware running MS2/Extra 3.4.4 firmware. Other ECU platforms and firmware versions are not represented as supported unless they are explicitly added to the compatibility table after independent validation.
GhostTune uses guarded sequencing, response validation, re-reading, and verification. If an interruption or mismatch is detected, the app stops the operation, reports the detected state, and provides recovery guidance. No software can guarantee protection from every power, hardware, or firmware failure, so a known-good backup remains essential.
Yes. Demo Mode lets you explore the interface and simulated live data before connecting to an ECU.
No. ECU communication, tune files, and engine data remain on your device and local WiFi connection unless you deliberately export or share a file.
Not in the current release. Additional ECU platforms are evaluated separately and remain blocked until their reads, writes, burns, safety gates, and recovery behavior are validated.
GhostTune connects over local WiFi through a compatible WiFi-to-RS232 bridge. GhostBridge is the assembled hardware designed for this workflow.
